History is the ultimate tool for us when we need to discuss the sequence of tenses, so confusing for some students. In Polish language, we don’t have any equivalent for that phenomenon, and I believe not many other languages can relate to it in any similar way.
I always find it easier to explain when I present my grammar in some relevant, exciting context. Majority of our students know general history, therefore they can easily relate to the facts presented, comment on them and, what’s most important, understand the issue discussed.

Choose any topic, you think will interest your students and if you like, you can also view the transcript after watching the whole story.
The fact that I can’t print it is a minor drawback for us. We need to prepare to this lesson beforehand anyway so we can just read & retype some potentially problematic vocabulary and create our own exercises.
